It's official!

Well, Wesley has been officially walking for over a week now. Of course, when I remember to get the camera out to video he decides to sit there and do nothing or take a few steps and sit down so I have had a hard time capturing a long walk on video. On Fathers Day evening I put up the boys' new pool outside. When Wesley was walking all over the back yard while wearing Crocs I knew he was officially walking. Here are a few videos of his walking adventures.

Sitting and hatching

Wesley discovered the table in the kitchen last night. He figured out how to sit on the chair all by himself. He was so proud of himself he just started laughing and clapping.

Has your brain ever hatched an idea? Well Max's has or at least that's what he called it. This is what Max's brain hatching an idea looks like...

That is two glow stick necklaces looped together with a disposable bag container connected to them and Wesley's sandals hanging off of that. Now that is one brain hatching idea!!

Days like these

It's days like these that I am thankful...
to be a mom.
to have two beautiful boys
to be able to enjoy the sunshine
for fun at the park with friends
for a big boy that listened and obeyed in the grocery store
for boys that love to sit in mommy's lap
for big boys that don't want to stay babies even though it kills me
for babies learning to walk
for picking vegetables out of the garden
for cooking dinner without listening to screaming babies
for a clean house
for a husband who will pick up things from the store on his way home from work
to kiss away the tears
to teach some valuable lessons
to hold a sleeping baby
for bedtime kisses and snuggles
for a home
for a family
for love.

Taking some steps

Here is a little video of Wesley's walking progress taken just a few minutes ago.

He will be walking all over the place by next week, I'm sure. He is walking more and more every day. Just over the past two days he has started to walk as much as he crawls. He still a wobbly but it's so cute and he gets so proud of himself. Yesterday he actually stood straight up from a seated position with out holding on to anything and took off walking. That was a first and he did again today at home. There's no stopping now!!

Eleven Months

One month, can it really be one month until my baby boys turns one? Yes, Wesley turned 11 months old today.

Wesley is trying to walk. He has taken about 10 to 12 steps max. He will walk and then sit down and start crawling. He pulls up and cruises on anything he can and then lets go and walks five or six steps. He will walk next to me while only holding one of my fingers. He has almost master standing from a sitting position. He gets better every day.

He is eating table food now and doesn't like baby food much any more. He loves any kind of fruit. Mandarin oranges and watermelon are his favorites. He loves green beans, mashed potatoes, carrots, and squash. He is a good eater and has liked everything we have tried so far. He is still nursing and I haven't decided if I am going to try to ween him at a year or not. He weighed 19 lbs 3 oz at support group on Wednesday. I thought he was big until a girl put her 5 month old baby on the scale after Wesley and they weighed the same thing.

He has gotten back to his old self lately. He is sleeping a little better and not screaming all day long. I cut back on the dairy again and he is on two allergy medicines now. He has not had a runny nose for 2 solid weeks which is a first since he was about 4 months! Yeah! I think he is finally feeling better. We are running a dehumidifier constantly in the house and it amazes me that I have to empty it every day.

He is saying momma, dadda, bye bye, hi, and ma. Ma, I'm pretty sure is Max because he will repeat it after I call Max's name. Of course he says none of them on command. He is waving bye bye but, again, not on command. He loves trucks, cars, and motorcycles, anything with wheels. He runs them all over the floor and says the bbbbb engine sound while playing with them.

He is very mischievous and gets into a lot more than Max did at his age. I have found him in the drawer of Max's armour, in the drawer underneath the oven, in the dryer, and in the closets. He loves to crawl under things. He crawls under the end table to get into the kitchen. He loves to make messes and doesn't mind getting dirty. You can't leave anything on the table within his reach he will have it everywhere in a manner of seconds.

He is very ticklish and laughs all the time. He thinks Max is hysterical and it is so fun to watch them play and interact together. Max is getting a little too rough with him now that Wesley is so mobile. I have to remind Max that Wesley is still a baby even though he is not so fragile anymore. Max gets so excited every time he does something, it is so precious. He will tell me, "Mommy, did you see Wesley do...!!!!" I love that he loves seeing his little brother meet all these milestones.

Well, the next month update I do for my baby boy he will be one. I can't believe a year has almost already passed by. Be looking for some walking video soon. I am trying but I can't ever seem to catch it on camera. Here are some adventures from the past month I never got around to blogging about.

I was cooking dinner one evening and Wesley had figured out how to open the drawer. He then proceeded to pull out most of the pans that were in the drawer. I just let him play because it was occuping him and there wasn't anything that could hurt him. He had gotten quite and then just started giggling so I looked down to find him in the drawer. He continued to have fun for another 20 minutes or so.

I left a bowl of peas on the table when I got up to do something. I turned around and he was already covered in it so I just let him play. By the time I got the camera and took pictures he was ready to be cleaned up and screaming but of course I took pictures anyway.

It was all over the floor and cabinets too since he slung the bowl off his high chair and across the room!

Wesley at his first 1890's days parade.

I had been cleaning the boys' room one night and left Wesley in the room for a minute or two to do something. When I came back in, this is what I found. He had opened the drawer, (and they are very hard to open, I have trouble opening them), thrown out Max's shirts, and climbed in the drawer.

His first time eating watermelon. It was nice and juicy as you can see by the soaked shirt.

His pitiful face.

Playing on the drums for his second trip to the Discovery Museum. The first time his was only a month to 6 weeks old. He loved it!!!

Look at those teeth!!

I let him play in the water. He got completely soaked we was chattering his teeth but he loved it and didn't want me to take him away.

Dayton Beach

Okay, so I am finally getting around to finishing our vacation postings. It has been a world wind two weeks since we've been back.

Update on Wesley. We went to the allergist on Tuesday and he is allergic to cats, dogs, and mold. Finally an answer to all the sickness! He is now on two medications and we are working on some things in the house. The only good thing about this is that it has finally opened up Rex eyes and he sees we can put off moving any longer. We go back in 6 weeks and I am so hoping we will start seeing some relief.

Now, back to the beach post.

We left Orlando Friday morning and headed to Dayton for a few days at the beach. We went straight out to the ocean after unloading the car so the boys see it. We ended up taking naps and didn't actually get any play time in on the beach that day and just hit the pool of a little while. We went to the strip that evening to walk and let Max play in the arcade. Every trip we go on we have to find the arcade. It's not vacation until he gets to play some games!

Wesley's first feel of sand on his feet.

There's nothing like the feel of sand between your toes.

Daddy putting Wesley's feet in the ocean for the first time.

The beach view from the pool.

Wesley and Paw Paw's, best buddies for life!

This boy loves the water.

He loves to play ski ball. Wait, I do too!!!

If there is a shooting game, Max will find it.

The next day we spent the morning on the beach after going to a little mom and pop place to eat breakfast. It was a little whole in the wall right on the inter coastal. We ended up getting to watch one of the sale boats leave out. Max found a hammock swing out front and enjoyed playing in it. We headed back to the room and for the beach. Wesely ended up falling asleep when we got back so Rex brought him out later when he woke up.

Max was ready to go. He wanted to build a sand castle so bad. We never got very far because he would tare down whatever you would start to build. He really enjoyed the ocean for the first time this year. He played in it for a couple of hours. He wanted to go far out but he's just not quite big enough. The water was not too cold and once you were in it was nice. After he got his floaties on he was even more brave.

Wesley didn't mind the sand or water at all. He just sat in the tide and felt the sand and water. He didn't cry at all. He sat there for at least 30 minutes before he even moved. He enjoyed the wet sand more than the dry sand. He kept getting the dry sand in his mouth and eyes.

It was a little over cast that day so it was not too hot. It was a perfect day for the beach. We had an awesome vacation. I am so glad we made the effort to go. It was a lot of work but so worth it. I can't wait to go back next year!!

Max in the hammock swing.
He can still look so angelic at times.

My sweet baby boys!

I'm so glad Max loves his brother!

Digging sand for the sand castle.

He loves for me to take his picture as you can tell by the expression on his face! :)

Time to fill the bucket with water.

No one said it was going to be this hard to catch a bucket of water.

My baby doesn't look like a baby anymore!

Wesley watching the water come up around him.

He's not too sure what is going on.

Got to love those belly rolls!!!

What is this stuff?

My two favorite pictures.

You have to wonder what they think about when they look out into the vast ocean!

Got floaties, will travel.

Not quite so overwhelming to him, I'm sure.
Run, Max run! It's going to catch you!

Finally some Maxisms!

Okay, so for the laps in Maxisms. Since vacation both boys have been sick and we have been running around like crazy to boot. Hopefully, I am going to get around to posting the rest of our vacation this week. Here are a few of my favorites over the past several weeks.

I bet my blood and bones are cheering for me.

When I grow up, I am going to buy Pap Paw's diesel truck from him for $30. I know he will sell it to me for that much because he loves me.

Mommy, on a motorcycle you gas with your hand to vrum it up.

Max says, "Knock, knock." I say, "Whose there?" He says, "Wood" I say,"Wood who?" After not saying anything for a minute he says, "Laugh, I just told you a really funny knock knock joke. "

Boy, this chocolate hit the spot.

While driving down the road we pass a truck and he says, "That truck sounds good doesn't it!"

Mommy, will you get me some turntables for my birthday? I think that would be really neat.
