Pumpkin picking

We made our annual pumpkin farm trip on Friday. We went with some great friends of ours to the Mayfield Farm Pumpkin Patch. It sprinkled off and on during the drive up but we hoped the rain would hold off. The weather here this time of year is so crazy. Last year Max was in shorts and a T-shirt this year we were in coats.

There were a lot of little things for the kids to do. They had a corn pit, large bails of hay to jump off of, a tower of tires, a small corn maze, some goats and pigs, and a cow train. The kids spent the majority of the time in the corn pit. It rained off and on the entire time we were there and it was really muddy but the kids loved it. They road the cow train twice in the rain and tromped through the muddy pumpkin patch to find their pumpkins. The pumpkin patch was really just pumpkins placed out in a field every few feet, not the actual pumpkin fields we are used to going to. The kids didn't notice the difference though.

We didn't do the corn maze, it was too wet and cold. We all went to dinner afterwards. I wish the weather would have been better but we all had a good time.

The next day we were supposed to go to a birthday costume party but I went to a consignment sale and didn't leave there until an hour after the party started. Some friends of ours own Mercy Stables in Ringgold. They were having their fall festival that day so Rex took Max. I stopped by for a few minutes on my way home from the sale.

Max had a blast. He dug through hay to find a prize, took a horse ride, took a hay ride, played games, and got a pumpkin. My camera batteries died as soon as I got there, of course. (My camera and I are just not getting along right now. Hopefully, Santa will fix that with a new one! :) ) I'm glad he got to spend some quality time with his daddy.

It was another fun filled fall weekend. This weekend were are planning on doing Boo in the Zoo at the Atlanta Zoo. I am so excited! The boys have never been to the Atlanta Zoo. Hopefully, it won't rain!

The corn cob made out of milk jugs.

Max wanted his pictured made next to these scarecrows.

Then he wanted to take my picture.

Jumping on the bails of hay.

Sliding down the bail of hay.

Climbing the tower of tires

All the kids minus Max in the corn pit. Cooper just happened to be kissing Wesley.

On the cow train.

Cooper, Meagan, Max, and Hudson. Cason wouldn't get on. Wesley wanted too but he isn't quite big enough for that yet.

Max and Cooper on the ride to the pumpkin patch.

Trying to find our pumpkins.

Max had to go to the very end of the patch.

Wesley drumming on the pumpkin. He kept calling them balls.

Max with his pumpkin

Family pic. Max is so difficult about getting his picture made sometimes. It is so frustrating.

Riding home after a long, cold, wet, fun evening.
