Poor sick baby
Thankfully, Dr. Spraggins came in pretty soon after we got there. She said she didn't want to make us wait the rest of the day for Wesley to be seen. He coughed several times while she was there and she got to hear how raspy his voice was. Diagnosis: Croup! They gave him an oral steroid in the office and put him on his first antibiotic.
He is so pitiful. This morning he could barely even cry or make any noise at all. He has gotten a little bit of his voice back but he is still very hoarse. He was up crying and only slept for 4 to 5 hours a night Saturday to Wednesday. Thankfully, last night he slept all night. Boy did we both need it.
I of course now have gotten sick. I think it's mainly from running on no sleep for 4 days and both boys having the crud. Max was sick over the weekend but is doing a lot better with just a little bit of congestion.
Max was never sick as an infant. He was 15 months old before he was ever on an antibiotic and that was for an ear infection. Even though it is baby number two, I am experiencing something new having a sick infant. It is just pitiful to hear that little raspy baby voice and for him to cry and not be able to do anything about it. Please, pray that he gets well soon and these medicines will actually work and make him well!

Not me! Monday!
I would never let Max play in Wesley's baby toys. That would be dangerous as he is way past the weight limit on such said items. I would never tell him to keep continuing what he is doing so I can get the camera either. Never not me!
I would never let my 7 month old fall asleep in the floor and leave him there while I took pictures of his big brother playing in the baby toys either. (Look in the background in above picture).
I would never let Max stand on the diaper pail and entertain his brother while I change his diaper.
I would never let Wesley play with a balloon either while changing his diaper.
I would never let Max jump on his bed with Wesley on it just because it makes him laugh and take video of it. Never no! Not me!
I would never run and get my camera to take a picture of all my boys sitting in the floor together, the little ones watching the big one play his XBox.
I always dress my son myself when he finishes using the potty so he will always have his clothes on the right way.
I always, always make sure my child eats a proper breakfast lunch and dinner. I would never let him have cereal for dinner and then leftovers of chicken and dressing, ham, and mac and cheese for breakfast.

Maxisms for the week 2/21/09
"I am sure am glad Daddy went to church with us because I sure do love him. I like to play his XBox too." I asked him, "does mommy have anything fun?" He says, "Not really but you do have your blog!"
"I brought my different bass with me to because it sounds different than my other guitar." I asked him, "How does it sound different?" He answered, "Because it doesn't plug up to an amplifier!"
I get my hair done in Fort Oglethorpe and I usually get off at the Cloud Springs Rd exit. We were driving by a shopping center right off the interstate and he shouts, "Mommy, I just saw the bull mark!" If you have seen the commercial you know what I'm talking about.
After spilling some drink on himself he says, "Mommy, I just got that wetness on my pants!"
I was holding Wesley and Max leans over and whispered something in his ear. I asked him what he whispered to his brother. He says, " I told him just do whatever she tells you and you will be ok." Maybe we were having some discipline issues that day!:)
He is telling me a story about what happened to him and his daddy a few months ago....
"We got in the truck and totally thought the truck was dead but we tried again and it fired right up! I don't have any idea what was wrong with it!"
Did you hear that beat? I was a scary beat.
I set it down correctly where it needed to be.
For all you nursing moms out there...
I get fresh milk and brother gets breast milk.

Valentine's Day
Okay, no big deal. We will go ahead and drop the boys off at my MIL and then run to the mall because I needed to pick up Wesley's pictures anyway. Of course, the picture place was closed so we went ahead and went to Carrabba's. We pulled into the parking lot at 7:45 and you couldn't even get into the door. It took us 15 minutes to even get to the hostess stand and when Rex finally got up there they told him it would be and hour and a half wait from the time our name was on the list for. Needless to say there was no way we could wait until 9:30 to even be seated.
We called a few other places with no luck so we ended up going to......Ryan's! Yes, Ryan's! Not very romantic but it was still very good. Our anniversary is next month so we will just go on a date and go to Carrabba's then. We did enjoy our date even though it wasn't what was planned or expected. I think next year we will either go earlier or later and not go out on Valentine's night.
My sweetie did surprise me with a message and facial treatment gift certificate. I am sure I will enjoy them both.
Yesterday we had our playgroup Valentine's Day party. The kids had a ball and it was really nice to see some friends we haven't seen in a good long while. It was all fun and games until 2 of the little girls got into the bathroom and overflowed the toilet so much the water started leaking through the kitchen light fixture. If you want to read the whole story, check out my friend LeeAnne's blog on my list. I sure am glad Max wasn't in the midst of all that mess. Poor Karen, I feel for her! Anyway, here a few pictures from our party yesterday.
These are out of order but here they are.
Wesley fell asleep about half way through in Miss Jessica's arms. I know who to call if I ever need a sitter!
The boys playing together. Max is trying to "help" Wesley!
My big boy!
The cake I made for the party.
Monkey see, monkey do! Little Hudson is just hanging out watching the big boys be silly.
It is so much more fun to swing on your belly!

Seven moths
He is such a little jabber box. I had to take him out of church Wednesday night because he doing his running motor so loud and continuously. Of course, his Paw Paw's said as I reached the door that is wasn't bothering him but it is only cute for so long. He of course babbles but he says Dadee and Dada all the time, he hasn't made the connection of course but he says them none the less. Max thinks he says things all the time and will tell me, "Mommy, Wesley just said ohhbay (or whatever he thinks he said)." It is too funny.
He still is a toothless wonder but I wish they would just come in already! All this slobber and fussiness for nothing! Arggghhh!!! He has several knots on the gums and that same eye tooth is there. You can see it under the skin it just won't break threw. Maybe, I should be grateful since he is still nursing.
He is on the verge of crawling. He can get anywhere he wants by his leap frog move. If you haven't seen it, check it out below in older posts. He is on his knees whenever you put him on the floor know and has gotten back up to a seated position after laying flat several times.
He reaches out for people when they hold their hands out to hold him. He also will turn away when he doesn't want to go. He is using his hands and arms really well now and has very good control for the most part. He still will hit himself in the face with toys sometimes. Of course everything that he gets a hold of goes in the mouth. He loves to tare paper.
He is eating pretty good and is now in the second foods stage. We just started meat this week. He doesn't seem to care much for it but maybe he will like it better the more he gets of it. He sleeps through the night most nights so that is nice for me. He still likes to be swaddled to sleep and will stay that way all night. He usually doesn't wiggle out of it.
He is still such a joy and has just the sweet disposition. He laughs all the time and loves to interact with people. Max loves to make him laugh and Wesley thinks big brother is the best. I love to see them playing together and laughing at each other. I can't wait until Wes is bigger and they get to really play and interact together.
Here are a few pics from this week. The naked pics and pics in the green chair were from last night pre and post bath. The other are a few I took Tuesday when I was going to do a wordless Wednesday post and ended up being gone all day.
Max actually took this picture of him laughing! What a happy boy!

From inch worm to leap frog

Wesley's new bed
The sheet and inside of the comforter are white with tiny polka dots in the same colors as the big dots. My friend Karen got me the matching blanket for a shower gift.
From inch worm to leap frog
Well this morning he went from and inch worm to a leap frog...
Looks like he will be crawling sooner than I want him to!
I hope the worst is over
As far as families doing things together this is one I wish we could have skipped. Prayerfully, Wesley got the least of it but unfortunately Rex was the worst. Of course, for the man who never gets sick when he does you would think he is dieing.;)
After a day of rest and well needed sleep we are all doing better not 100% but better. Hopefully that was all of this one. I guess now it is just until the next one.

A reward for Max
Wesley eating dinner in his stroller. What a happy boy he is, such a joy!
Big boy in the big boy game side. Where did my baby go?
Next adventure, Pump it Up. I promised that I would take him there too so we will be visitning sometime soon!
